Machine Learning is a part of Computer Science which trains the computer to think and act like humans do. In other words, it’s a type of Artificial Intelligence which makes a computer to learn and make decisions with experience like humans. How Machine Learning is implemented?
In order to train a computer, it’s given a data set and with the help of it we will train the computer to predict the properties of data. For Example: To teach the computer the image of a tiger, we will give 500 images of different tigers and another set of 500 images which are not of tigers. This way the computer will learn to predict which one is tiger when we provide a new image.
Algorithms are used to feed the specific properties of a given set of data. With the help of an algorithm, it can predict the nearest properties of a test data. One such algorithm is KNN(K Nearest Neighbor).
Real-Life Applications of Machine Learning
Machine Learning is used in many of the business and in our day to day life. It makes a computer learn from a set of historical data and past experience. Thus intelligent systems are made form Machine Learning algorithms. Not to mention, Machine Learning helps to build better technology which can be used in various fields. ● Medical Diagnosis Machine learning is used in the diagnosing tools for the diagnosis of diseases. For the therapy planning and analysis of the patient’s history and current status of the patient, machine learning is used. ● Speech recognition Speech is another application of machine learning. With speech recognition machines are able to convert a voice in an audio clip to words and vice versa.
● Image Recognition Image recognition and speech recognition are common examples of machine learning which is used in daily life. Major application is face detection.
